Zero-Knowledge Audio Architecture

Privacy Policy & Data Protection

Last Updated: August 30, 2026

Executive Privacy Summary: 100% Client-Side Processing

Sound Analyzer is designed with privacy by architecture. All Fast Fourier Transforms (FFT), decibel sound level measurements, pitch detection algorithms, and audio file decoding execute exclusively on your local device CPU and GPU. Your audio signals are never transmitted over the internet, never saved on remote servers, and never monitored.

1. Real-Time Microphone & Audio Input Stream Isolation

When you grant browser microphone permissions, the audio stream is piped directly into a local W3C Web Audio API AudioContext. The raw PCM audio buffers are analyzed in volatile RAM and immediately discarded after rendering each visual frame.

We do not record, store, transmit, or cache any microphone audio or voice data. Revoking microphone permission in your browser instantly severs the audio input pipeline.

2. Local Audio File Analysis Security

When you drag and drop an audio file into the Audio File Player, the file is decoded entirely in your browser using the native Web Audio decodeAudioData() method. The file is never uploaded to any cloud server.

All spectrum analysis, spectrogram rendering, and playback loop processing occur locally on your machine.

3. Cookies, Analytics & Tracking

Sound Analyzer does not use intrusive third-party tracking cookies or audio fingerprinting technologies. We use minimal, privacy-focused anonymous telemetry solely to evaluate page performance and crash rates.

Strict Prior Consent Gating: In accordance with the EU ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC Art. 5(3)) and German TDDDG § 25, analytical telemetry scripts (Google Analytics) are strictly prevented from loading into your browser DOM until affirmative prior consent is granted via our Cookie Banner. By default, all consent signals are set to denied (Google Consent Mode v2).

Your theme preference (Dark/Light mode) and visualizer settings are stored purely in your browser's local localStorage and never leave your device.

Interactive Consent & Local Storage ManagerGDPR Art. 7(3) • CCPA

You hold total sovereign control over your privacy choices. You can modify your consent settings or purge all local preferences stored on this device at any time:

4. Advertising & Future Google AdSense Integration

To support ongoing infrastructure and bandwidth costs while keeping our professional acoustic analysis suite 100% free and accessible to audio engineers, musicians, and researchers worldwide, Sound Analyzer may introduce non-intrusive third-party advertisements in the future, including Google AdSense.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies to serve advertisements based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve personalized or contextual advertisements based on visits to this and/or other sites across the web.

Strict Audio Privacy Safeguard & Zero Targeting Guarantee

Microphone & Audio Stream Isolation: Under no circumstances will your audio recordings, microphone input streams, spectral measurements, or sound files be accessed by, shared with, or used for ad targeting by Google AdSense or any third-party ad networks. All acoustic signal processing is mathematically sandboxed inside your local browser.

Consent Controls (Google Consent Mode v2): In compliance with the Google EU User Consent Policy and the EU ePrivacy Directive, all advertising cookies and telemetry tags remain strictly blocked by default (ad_storage: 'denied', ad_user_data: 'denied', ad_personalization: 'denied') until you grant affirmative prior consent via our Cookie Banner.

5. Third-Party Links & Standards References

Our platform provides educational hyperlinks to official scientific standards organizations (ISO, IEC, IEEE, W3C, AES). These external sites maintain independent privacy policies.

We encourage users to review the privacy notices of external websites when visiting their domains.

5. Compliance with Global Privacy Frameworks (GDPR & CCPA)

Because Sound Analyzer does not collect, process, or sell personal data or biometric voice recordings, our services inherently comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

Users retain full sovereign control over their device permissions and data at all times.
